Melissa Savoie

Melissa discovered a love for Yoga in high school, originally as an activity to connect with her mother. She discovered an incredibly powerful practice, which would sustain and create an increased self confidence and communication.  Melissa studied with many instructors throughout high school and college as a way to manage anxiety and stress, also attempting meditation. It was not until the last two years after relocating to Austin that she really began to go deeper into the practice of Yoga as a way of life, and she completed Hatha Yoga teacher training in 2009.  Her primary influences include Gary Kraftskow, Nischala Joy Devi, Judith Lasater, Anodea Judith and Gertrud Hirschi.

Melissa attempts to express to her students the power of Yoga to increase our honest and compassionate communication with our bodies, our hearts, our friends our families and in all our relationships. She is most interested in using Yoga to increase self esteem, body strength, open the heart and to relax.  Melissa is committed to Yoga as a way to integrate our bodies, minds and spirits and to invite a divine experience of life.
